DOG DAY DISCO - Promotion short

We made a short movie for a party on the 29th. The theme is 'HIP HOUSE' (remember MC HAMMER?). We took a couple classic HIP HOUSE cover art and transformed them and animated them to promote the DJ's and party. We LOVE to make these kind of things so we put a special bit of energy in this one :)

We've created the main characters and now it is time to build the set! Luckily we had a 'super helping handy man' called Bram Baars. Who helped us build this huge set! Its going to be the living room so there is still a lot of work to do. There's going to be a couch and a door and a carpet and so on so on. So stay tuned for more updates.

"It was the summer of 2011". Not a song by Bryan Adams but a short compilation of all the things we made and are still working on this year (so far).

We've been experimenting with 3d, went on road-trips, made the first dolls for our sit-comedy and much more. Enjoy!

Work, work, work... Once again we've thrown ourselves in a new direction. We started to make a sit comedy with puppets. We've had the idea for a couple of years and finally had the time. We also finished the graphics for an Arcade. More about that soon!

Hi there! Long time no see..

we've been working on altering images with hydrochloric. Not just sure what to use it fore yet.

The reason its been such a long time is because Luke broke her wrist :( Check out the cool photo though. It will be 2 more weeks of torture...

And next to that we're working on a real site! Also getting in to 3D and getting involved with more video's and party's! Which is good.

VEEN STAGE on Queensday!

Yes! This year the VEEN Stage is back with a giant silverback gorilla. Not a normal silverback off course but one with a thing for our queen Beatrix. We made a poster and a promotional video. Also there is a facebook event where you can find al the details and feel free to join us on the 30th of April and go apeshit.

First we animated the text in After Effects, which we printed and traced frame by frame. Then we took some original Silverback footage, which we also traced. Combining digital with hand made, the way we like it! Music by our very own 80.

You can see that we're making a hand drawn animation on top of some real footage of the mighty silverback. A lot of work, but a lot of fun. No compromise for the result ;)

Also still working on our Spacemarine videoclip. Taking a little bit more time than anticipated, but well worth the wait.

The idea for The Slapper was an inside joke we've had for a while now. While working on another project we thought it would be fun to incorporate a small infomercial.

A guaranteed success for boring parties in the near future!

The third poster already for Luister De Balie. And again we took the effort of making every poster unique. It's a dutch language special with a poetic theme. So we made it fully typographical and added 2 layers. A four colored back layer and a half transparent top layer. They resemble the joy of creation and the emotional layer. We know, a little over the top 'concepting'. But we like that sort of thing now and then :)

We are currently working on a long term project for a new video clip by 80 (that's just Bo's stage name, for the few people who didn't know that already :) The song will be released at the same time as the video, so no previews there. Urban Disco is the name of a small party with massive outgoing party people;) This is us with a couple of friends and a location. Doing what we do best, being creative and having an awesome time! For the next Urban Disco we made a video to share on facebook and a poster.

The first Veen Club Party!

We are so exited! The first Veen Club Party at a unique location TOOMLER in Amsterdam. TOOMLER is known as the Comedy Tempel in Holland. There's going to be a lot of candy and presents because there will be a couple of birthday party's held as well. And that will ad more happy dancing people. Everything combined with a couple of our favourite DJ's: The Kevin Spacies, Excuses, Dr. Morris, Jesse Blits en 80 Party party party!

And because it's our party we did our best to make a crazy Veen Poster.

June 9th there is a new edition of Luister De Balie with four acts from four major cities: Leklin (Rotterdam), I am Oak (Utrecht), Saelors (Amsterdam) and Baby Copperhead (NY).

If you look closely you will discover iconic building from these four cities that together form a ‘band name’ skyline. And each poster cut out by hand, of course.

We're starting to get some progress with the new Veen graphics. First we trace them on paper and then manually trace them in Illustrator... Just like in the last season, we're going to travel the dutch landscapes to find some unique material. Only this time from the seaside.

Also we came up with an idea for a new painting. It's gonna involve a giant octopus and iconic Amsterdam buildings...
